Prison Notebook & Truth and Power

I completely agree with Gramsci when he states that everyone is philosophical in their own right

because I do believe that everyone has a different way of thinking and viewing of a certain situations.

I believe the reason for this is because of how a person may have been brought up and of the

experiences he/she may have encountered in his/her past. The past experiences may affect how a

person will deal with future situations. This becomes a person's truth, their "common sense".

What they know to be true from what they have experienced. But in order to not be biased based on

one's own opinion, one has to be willingly open to the options of other ideas that may influence one's

own way of thinking. However, I am not too sure where I stand when Gramsci say that every

political action represents one's philosophy, because sometimes, people's action do not coincide with

their words/thinking.
