from prison notebooks and truth and power
In both works, the topics of philosophy, culture, and politics were brought up and how they all come together in society. the aspects of the paper is mostly about the culture and the many senses of that word, however both papers also interlope philosophy and politics into different meanings of culture. The readings go over many meaning of culture from high culture to societal culture. The political side seems to be the more societal side of culture because politics is a thing created by society. Back in the ancient days of Greece, politics were enveloped in their society, they held counsels and created a a type politics where the common day people could be involved. The politics before had no interactions with the common people, the laws and rules within a culture was dictated by a monarch and their liege lords. Politics have been in bedded in culture from the every beginning just in many different ways. In the sense of philosophy I believe that would have to do with a different culture, such as what would be called high cultured. the phrase high cultured would be educated or well learned in some aspects of history. If you were educated or had a lot of knowledge in higher society, you would be called very cultured in English society back in the 1800's. Since philosophy has always been considered a higher form of education which in the past very few could only achieve. It was the field of the rich and the luxurious although that also depends on the period of time. In high society however it was a common thing to do since they were rich and had the luxury of not needing to work, therefore had more time to study philosophy and become cultured in a sense.
