The article talks about how commercialized products play a role in culture. Specifically, cars in

American cultures and it's significance. When we think of American cars we think Ford, trucks, and

hummer. The big husky cars that gives off the masculinity vibe for males. When it comes to imported

cars, these cars do not give off the same vibe as American cars which takes away the masculinity

for males. This is why many people invest in cars with speed, sound, and looks or they invest in

improving these features that defines masculinity in cars.  By doing so, it gives males a sense of

masculinity for being strong, loud, overpowering that they are seeking.

In Kelly loves Tony, their relationship is becoming more and more complicated. In Kelly's

perspective she wants to go to school and be a wife, mom, and daughter in law at the same time. She

wants to be able to do something with her life. In Tony's perspective, he just wants Kelly to stay

home and be a mom, wife, and daughter in law. Kelly wants to break out of the cultural circle that

defines her culture and not follow every single tradition, but Tony believes in gendered specific roles

a female should fall into in their culture. Tony's parents are postponing the wedding because they do

not think the relationship is stable and that Kelly is not being a up to standard mom, daughter in law,

and wife. Kelly is also uncomfortable living in Tony's house and is frustrated that no one helps

take care of the baby when she is busy. Tension grows even more as Kelly is pregnant again. Now

she has to put a hold on school again. Kelly defines her life through education and Tony defines her

life as being the typical Mien female. Kelly starts to regret everything.
