Antonio Gramsci: The Prison Notebooks and Michael Foucault: Truth and Power
In the article The Prison Notebooks, written by Antonio Gramsci, he describes the hegemony, which is the dominance of one social group over others, between philosophy and religion. He described the differences and similarities between the two ideas and how people believe in either one. He says how religion and philosophy are similar because they are beyond common sense and require critical thinking.
In the second article, Truth and Power by Michael Foucault, the author describes the relationship between truth and power. He says that truth is separate from power, and that it is its own idea, but also that it revolves around power because truth sustains power, and power extends truth.
These two articles are related because they both talk about hegemony and the dominance of different ideas in society. The first article describes how philosophy and religion have different thoughts, and the second article talks about the differences between truth and power. They both talk about how everything operates together and helps to form a society.
