in the modern day memes are a thing that is to take another thing and make a funny post about it.normally political memes are making ridicule of  the ridiculous things the government does at times. such as currently anything about Donald Trump and his office, mostly just Sean Spencer and his yelling at the press and Donald Trumps hair. in the political sense the memes are supposed to make fun of them while they try to run for office of higher power within the country. it is a way to take down the system by making fun of the system. it also brings ridicule to people and people being made fun of do not like being made fun of so in a sense it can bring out the worst in people, like trump getting mad at media outlets and calling them fake news.. in the article it talks about the bush/ gore election year and how millionaires backed them. it shows how in the country the millionaires do control a huge percentage of the country. because of this the people who aren't as fortunate as them have to do other things in order to put up their form of resistance against the presidential candidates that are backed by millionaires who have enough to change who becomes president. memes are a resistance of the normal people in the world, its light hearted and yet has a strong message.
