The writing compares and contrasts the lives of a boy and his father. The lives of two different
generations and perspective each one takes. Because of these differences it causes animosity
between father and son and it sticks with Le growing up which eventually affects the family
as a whole. From Le's perspective it seems like he doesn't want to bother his father and that he just
wants to do his own thing, but as a father, Le's dad tries to help him out and be interested in the
things that Le does. Le has shut his father out for such a long time and it's just difficult to simply
act like there's any meaning between them, but they are after all, father and son.
