This article resonates with me because I have a similar relationship with my father as the narrator. Coming from a first generation household, I know my parents have struggled a lot for them to come to America. Because of this, I often try not to ask them for a lot of stuff. I feel bad when I need something so I just do not ask. Our relationship is often distanced because of this. The title of this short story made me understand where the author/narrator was coming from and how complicated their lives are.
