Merchants of Cool

I have ever really thought of teens as being the dominant group that is stirring the consumer economy. This documentary shows the power of marketing and advertising because they have experts who to intensive research on the popular culture in order to see how they can build a message deriving from their product to insure the youth will purchase the product.
It is a marketers attempt to use their product as a lifestyle for youths. You need these nike shoes because because it is the most comfortable and provide you with the best endurance to finish that last mile. In today’s culture this product that is a huge influence of “cool” are Yeezy’s. I was always a fan of adidas because of its old-fashion B-boy culture in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. However, now they have used the face of celebrity to justify a shoe costing half a grand to grand, if limited addition. This shoe have become known as street style. Personally, I hate these shoes because of its marketing and overpriced quality. When did street style become having to use mom and dad's money to buy $500 shoes?
Nonetheless these cool items have been influenced by the API community especially Hypebeast. Many of these Asian youths are becoming the ground breakers of social media. There are famous Asian youtubers and even fashion lifestyle bloggers on instagram. These “cool kids” have the power to influence. Thus, will be of much use to marketers.
