The topic of Philosophy, I find to be very complex because it is founded by abstract concepts and curiosity. Gramsci reiterates the levels to achieve effective philosophy. The first level is language because language is a simple form of communication. Language comes in different styles, it does not necessarily mean the common words and dialect bound to an ethnic group. It is merely a form of communication; can be verbal or non-verbal.
Secondly, once the first level have been reach, only then we go to the next level of awareness and thinking critically. To be a philosopher, one must understand th history. This concept applies to understand culture because one must research and learn a culture's history. Gramsci then mentions how philosophy establishes intellectual order. Philosophy is above religion and common sense because philosophy is through the indivisual, while common sense is derived by social construct and is fluid.
Philosophers think of what is true to their intellectual capacity, but what is tru to them may not be true to the next person or even to society. Foucault elaborates on truth from the side of abstract truth to scientific truth. He mentions that truth is a system of procedures. If it is a system, I believe we can change truth because it is a production based on political and economical regimes. These authors do allow me to ponder the idea if anything is actually truth. I believe science does provide us closer to truth, but the abstract is debatable.
