Filipino DJs culture has been prevailing amongst young generations. Hence. The reason why Filipino has this prevailing culture of young generations playing Djs or hip-hop can be contributed to the presence of Puerto Ricican Culture, or the origin of hip-hop. What’s even more surprising is Filipinos acknowledge this originality of hip-hop and embraced it in their culture, in which this is very rare to see as many cultures try to set identity for themselves. This article also mentions Hip-hop culture has no direct reference to a specific culture. DJing also gives Filipino young generations a chance to have a sense of belonging because the most famous DJs are often Filipinos.   Yet, it seems that there are correlations between Filipino youths and black young people, in which younger generations seem to be very embraced by Hip-hop. To sum up, it is hard to determine whether hip-hop belongs a specific culture rather Hip-hop is an intercultural exchange or “free for all”, as mentioned in the article.
