Growing up, I immersed myself in the Fast and Furious serious. Mostly because my brothers and guy cousins were the most excited and I often hung out with them and watched these movies everytime it came out. I paid no attention to the objectification of these women, I was just fantasizes by the "cool cars" and Asian actors "finally making it".
However, as I started to gain more knowledge and became critical of the world I lived in, I started to become less proud of the movie and gained a more distaste. I they tried to gain cinematic multiculturalism, but still were on the same track of showing the hegemonic power of the White race. The two main characters were White and were known to be the best drivers even though most of the cars were import from Asian and the street race culture stemmed from Asia.
Then I started to pay attention to the women. The women were clearly objectified because she was taken as a trophy prize. She often work skimpy clothing and hardly ever drove the race cars. The only female race drivers was Letty played by Michelle Rodriguez. She was portrayed as the "bad-ass" and even degraded some of the female import models and asian females in the movie. I believe once the import culture of cars became dominant it built the sensational act of import modeling.

So much was going on in this part of the documentary. Tony began to see no reason for Kelly to continue with education and implies that her focus should be purely on the well-being of the baby. Kelly is fighting with her amibition, expectations, and morals. I notice in the class, while watching the movie, there were a lot of unsettling scuffs and remarks to tony's ignorance. However, I found the classmates reaction to be inconsiderate toward Tony. Tony was culturaly groomed to believe women should stay home and do the cooking and cleaning. His belief are not as extreme than other men's - you can see it in his thought process and careful choice of words. In the state that Kelly and Tony is in, there must be a lot of pressure coming from both side of the family and the commitment to their child, therefore, all we can do as viewers is not too judge so quickly, but to look at the systematic culture placed.
