Laotian Daughters

Being from the area, I can personally relate to the issues. Many of the Laotian girls talked about in the excerpt are exactly the same as my friends and classmates, struggling with the same issues of negotiating identities and resisting traditional sexism. It makes me wonder why there was not an Asian organization at my high school or in my town, or if the organization mentioned in the excerpt still exists. I think that there should be an Asian American student organization at the high schools in the area, where there are many Asian Americans that face the issues. I think that having these organization will help Asian Americans, especially those at a disadvantage, succeed.
