Mobile culture & Kelly loves Tony

Many Asian ethnic groups are very traditional, therefore, the act of being sexually expressive through queer identity is unconventional. It is not hardly talked about. In the western or United States, we have the privilege of being more open and supportive of Gays because there are organizations and groups and political activist that will fight for the right of Gay marriage,

Unfortunately, in South Asian the Queer identity has not been developed or as aware of because of the status quo. Visibility is an issue for South Asian Queers because there is a double binding experience because they also have to deal with racism. Also the traditional south Asia does not want to interfered with the model minority theory. Thus, South Asian Queers have the most problem in South Asia.

I think it is great to have access to the internet for South Asian queers because physically they may not be supported, but virtually they have the anonymity to receive cyber community support and confidential counseling. They may not be above to express themselves or ask for help on their land, but the cyber community can help.

Kelly Loves Tony:

I am from Richmond and I actually have alot of lu Mien friends. It is scary to see young couples with children face such a difficulty of deportation. You can really see the family dynamic of being traditional and following the guidance of their parents because once they got pregnant, the quickly had to get married.
